TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe government decided to relax the public mobility restrictions or PPKM policy in line with the improving conditions of COVID-19. The Java-Bali PPKM coordinator Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said several adjustments to activities in shopping centers or malls, as well as tourist sites, were made.

“Children's play areas in malls or shopping centers are allowed to be opened in regencies or cities at PPKM Level 2,” Luhut said on Monday, October 18.

Playgrounds, however, are required to ask for parents’ phone numbers, addresses, and playtime for tracking purposes.

The operating capacity of cinemas in areas under PPKM Level 1 and 2 was also increased to 70 percent. Children are also allowed to visit movie theaters.

Children aged below 12 are now permitted to enter tourist sites that use the PeduliLindungi app with parents’ supervision.

The government would open more tourist attractions in cities and regencies under PPKM Level 3 with permission from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. While water tourism in PPKM Level 1 and 2 regions has begun to welcome tourists.

Logistic drivers who have been fully vaccinated could present a negative result of an antigen test as the requirement of domestic travel which is valid for 13 days. Field officers would conduct random checks.

On Monday, October 18, Luhut announced that the PPKM policy status in Jakarta and its neighboring regions, namely Tangerang City and South Tangerang City of Banten Province, Bogor City, Depok City, Bekasi City, and Bekasi Regency, was dropped from level 3 to level 2.
