TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police have thwarted an attempted smuggling of marijuana weighing 1.37 tons from Aceh to the capital.
“This are the Jakarta, Medan and Aceh networks. Twelve suspects have been arrested and six are still on the police wanted list (DPO),” said Jakarta Police Chief Insp. Gen. Fadil Imran in his office, South Jakarta, Monday, October 18, 2021.
Fadil said based on the investigation results marijuana from Aceh was usually consumed by beginners, viz. youngsters, who frequently committed crimes on the capital’s streets.
“In the future, the Jakarta Police will fortify the family security, because most of the users are youths,” Fadil said.
Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus said the operation began following the arrest of two dealers, RZs and AF, in East Ciputat, South Tangerang, on September 10, 2021. The police seized 58.37 grams of marijuana divided into 58 ready-to-use packages in the arrest.
