TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Director Sr. Comr. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo confirmed that the odd-even policy in the capital city will no longer be applied from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. The traffic policy is now applied in two sessions; in the morning and in the evening.
“It is valid from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.,” said Sambodo in his office on Friday, October 15.
Sambodo added the new traffic rules will take effect from Monday to Friday starting today, October 15. “We don’t apply the policy on Saturday and Sunday,” he also said.
The traffic policy is applied to three areas, viz. Jalan Sudirman, MH Thamrin, and Kuningan. Jakarta has started to enforce the odd-even system after road blocks were lifted in line with the enforcement of the level 3 public mobility restriction or PPKM Level 3.
Sambodo further underlined that the odd-even policy in tourist areas during the PPKM Level 3 period remains in effect as usual, including at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) cultural park and Ancol Dreamland Park. The traffic posts at TMII are located at TMII Gate 1 and the traffic junction towards Cipayung, while the traffic posts at Ancol are set in front of the West Gate and the East Gate.
