Sri Mulyani Earns IIF Award for Leadership, Service

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati received the Distinguished Leadership and Service Award from the Institute of International Finance (IIF) at the annual meeting of IIF members in Washington, DC, United States, October 11, 2021.
"This award is given in recognition of individuals who have consistently made outstanding contributions to the global economy and financial system with their leadership," said the ministry's spokesperson Rahayu Puspasari on Monday, October 11, 2021.
IFF is a global association of the financial industry with more than 400 members from 70 countries, including Indonesia.
Rahayu said this award showed that the minister's hard work has contributed to saving economic stability, not only domestically, but also worldwide.
The IIF meeting is part of the 2021 IMF-World Bank annual meeting. In this event, Rahahyu said Minister Sri was a panelist at the Asia Policymaker session, discussing various strategic policies that have been carried out by Indonesia since the pandemic.
The discussion included policies to deal with the pandemic, tax reforms, and the role of private sectors in controlling climate change. "And the G20 Indonesia Presidency that will be handed over from Italy at the end of October," she added.
Rahayu further claimed that the carbon tax mentioned by Sri Mulyani received positive responses at the IIF 2021 meeting. The IIF even called Indonesia a champion for efforts to contain global climate change.
