TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Immigration authority announced that it has denied the entry of 57 foreign citizens from various countries.

Head of the airport immigration, Romi Yudianto, said these people were denied visas for multiple reasons.

According to the immigration database, 40 people were denied entry in September and the rest were in October. Most of the people barred from entering Indonesia were Indian and Pakistani nationals.

Head of the immigration information technology Sam Fernando said, on average, Indian nationals were not allowed to enter due to recommendation letters from the airport’s Covid-19 task force. “They failed to undergo quarantine in a third country for 14 days,” he said.

In total, the foreign nationals denied entry came from Pakistan, France, United States, and Japan, which most were caused by insufficient Covid-19 PCR test reports.
