Indonesia Logs 1,167 New Covid-19 Infections, 1,507 Recoveries on October 9

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force released the new Covid case update as per Saturday, October 9. The data showed there were 1,167 new infections, totaling the tally to 4,227,038 cases.

Meanwhile, the active cases were recorded at 25,159, decreasing by 392 cases from yesterday's record. The task forces reported that the tested specimens reached 267,050 today.

Based on the data, Central Java logged the highest number with 145 cases. Followed by West Java at 117, East Java 117, and Jakarta with 100 cases.

Five provinces, meanwhile, reported below 10 Covid-19 cases. They were Jambi, North Maluku, Maluku, Bengkulu, West Papua, and Southeast Sulawesi. Two Indonesian provinces, namely North Sulawesi and Gorontalo even recorded zero case on October 9.

The Covid-19 survivors also increased to 4,059,267, or rose 1,507 cases from yesterday. But 52 people succumbed to the new Coronavirus disease today, adding Indonesia's death toll to 142,612 cases.
