TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police on early Saturday, October 9, closed three cafes in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta, for operating over the set hours during the level 3 community activity restrictions or PPKM to curb Covid-19 infections in the capital city.
"When we're conducting patrol at around 1 a.m., several entertainment venues were still operated," said the deputy chief of Jakarta Metro Traffic Police, Adj. Sr. Comm. Rusdy Pramana Siryanagara.
During the level 3 PPKM, entertainment businesses are only allowed to operate until midnight. The three cafes that violated the rules were Tipsy Monkey, 80 Proove Bar & Club, and Barcode.
The police asked all visitors to leave the three PIK cafes immediately as they violated the health protocols policy. The authorities also called on the cafe owners to abide by the health regulations to prevent Coronavirus transmission.
