President Visits Military Alutsista Display in 76th TNI Anniversary

  • TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Tuesday paid a visit to the exhibition of the national primary weapons system (Alutsista) in commemoration of the 76th anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) held in front of the presidential palace in Central Jakarta.

    Riding along in the golf cart was the President’s First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, VP Ma’ruf Amin, the VP’s wife Wury Ma’ruf Amin.

    “In commemorating the 76th anniversary of the TNI we exhibit our Alutsista as a means of transparency towards the public and show that the State Budget has been spent on these equipment,” said the President at the location, October 5. 

    Jokowi mentioned his intentions to expose more about Indonesia’s defense equipment, especially the lesser known ASTROS launcher or Artillery Saturation Rocket System, which he said could travel 39-kilometer distance.

    Among the military equipment on display were 2 Serpa Light Scouts, 35 Anoa tactical vehicles, 8 Indonesia light strike vehicles (ILSV), armoured personnel carriers, 2 rantis bushmasters, 18 Mistral missile, and 6 armed caesar 155 MM.
