Thunderstorms to Hit Jakarta, Depok, Bogor: BMKG

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a weather alert for the Jakarta areas. Heavy rain accompanied by lightning or thunderstorms was forecasted to hit the capital city and its neighboring regions today, October 4. The general weather, however, was predicted to be partly sunny to cloudy.
“Be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in South Jakarta and East Jakarta in the afternoon,” as quoted from the weather early warning on the agency's official website, Monday, October 4, 2021.
The agency predicted that the capital’s weather would be cloudy on Monday morning. During the day, light-intensity rain would likely shower South Jakarta and East Jakarta. West Jakarta would see cloudy weather, while the weather in Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands would be partly sunny.
The capital city’s neighboring regions, viz. Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi, was predicted to be showered by rain in various intensities. Light rain was forecasted to wet Bekasi City and Bogor City on Monday afternoon, while Bekasi Regency would be cloudy.
Thunderstorms were also forecasted to hit Depok City and Bogor Regency in the afternoon until night. Bogor City, Depok City, and Bekasi Regency would see light rain at night, the BMKG noted.
