Indonesian Celebrities Enliven PON Papua Opening

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian celebrities, including Raffi Ahmad and Tulus, will be involved in the opening ceremony of the 20th National Games Week in Papua, or PON Papua, at Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura on Saturday, Oktober 2.

The husband of Nagita Slavina will host the pre-event with Intan Saumadina, Piter Ginuny, and Irsa Yoku.

Top singers and musicians, such as Tulus and Ruth Sahanaya, will also perform at the ceremonial event of Indonesia's biggest sports event.

Papua local celebrities such as Edo Kondologit, Trio Papua, and Albert Fakdawer will also be involved in the event.

PON Papua opening ceremony will be held under strict health protocols. President Joko Widodo is scheduled to open the quadrennial sports event.

The opening ceremony would not be opened for public. The capacity is limited to 25 percent of the total 40,000 capacities at the Lukas Enembe Stadium.

However, the people of Indonesia will still be able to watch the opening events at various platforms.

PON Papua ceremony will be opened by President Jokowi. The series of the events is scheduled to start at 19:00 Eastern Indonesia Time.
