Indonesia to Face Malaysia in Sudirman Cup Quarter Finals

  • TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian badminton team will face Malaysian team in the 2021 Sudirman Cup quarter final, based on the BWF draw on Friday, October 1. 

    Indonesia came out as the Group C winner after defeating Denmark 3-2 in a match on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Malaysia was the Group D runner up after having been defeated by Japan with a final score of 1-4.

    Another quarter final match will see China against Denmark, and South Korea against Thailand on the top chart of the match, Antaranews reported.

    The Indonesia vs Malaysia match will be held on Friday afternoon at 16:00 local time or 20:00 Indonesia Western Time (WIB).

    Indonesian team manager Eddy Prayitno in a previous interview said his players are all in their prime condition with zero injuries and ready to compete.

    “Once the draw was made, we held a meeting with coaches to determine who will represent Indonesia and play in the knockout,” said Eddy. “We will play with the strongest and best player in the quarter finals.”
