TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Covid-19 vaccination program for farmers in Bekasi Regency in West Java was held throughout the evening to adjust to the farming activities in the field that are done during the day. The vaccination was held for the past week and directly supervised by the local police sector and healthcare service workers.
“The farmers are working in the field during the day which is why we decided to hold the vaccinations at night,” said police chief Adj. Comm. Robiin on September 28, Antaranews reported.
Local village leaders were mobilized to disseminate the program and resulted in high enthusiasm from local residents despite it being held in the night.
Apart from farmers’ vaccination, the Bekasi Regency also provided a similar program for fishermen at the muaragembong subdistrict which is not held in vaccination centers but at the villages where the fishermen live. There were 500 out of 2 thousand fishermen who have been vaccinated in the program.
