TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A 30-ton capacity oil tanker belonging to Pertamina caught fire on the Jagorawi Toll Road KM 6 near the Dukuh 3 Toll Gate in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, Tuesday night, September 28. It was reported that the fire source was the compressor.

"We sent three fire truck units," the East Jakarta Fire Service's head of operations, Gatot Sulaiman, told Tempo on Wednesday, September 29.

Gatot said the fire was first reported on Tuesday night at around 7:50 p.m. The driver noticed the fire after seeing smoke coming out from the side of his vehicle.

The driver quickly used a fire extinguisher and was able to put out the fire before the firefighters arrived.

"The cause of the fire was a short circuit in the battery cable," Gatot said.
