TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Education Agency’s Head of Junior-Senior High Schools, Putoyo HS, said his side would hold a meeting with the Health Agency this afternoon related to the finding of 25 COVID-19 clusters during the limited face-to-face learning at schools.
“We are a bit shocked to hear that so we immediately coordinate with the Health Agency,” said Putoyo on Thursday, September 23.
The Education and Culture Ministry previously reported 25 COVID-19 clusters at schools as of Wednesday at 6:08 p.m. The data was published on the ministry’s website sekolah.data.kemdikbud.go.id. However, the site did not mention when the survey was conducted.
The finding was obtained from a survey involving 900 schools. The survey revealed that 25 out of 875 schools reported COVID-19 infections with 227 educators and education staff (PTK) and 241 students tested positive for the disease.
According to Putoyo, today's meeting agenda would be about coordination on which agency could fill in the data at the ministry and how to read it. “We discussed the whole data,” he added.
Putoyo went on to say that the Jakarta Education Agency would handle the case findings appropriately and correctly if they were valid in accordance with the procedures of the Jakarta Health Agency.
