TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Some cafés in Java and Bali can now open until midnight. Following the government's decision to extend the people's mobility restrictions policy (PPKM) until October 4, the Home Affairs Minister issued Decree No.43/2021 on the levels of PPKM imposed in Java and Bali.

The PPKM coordinator for Java and Bali, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said all regions were now at levels 2 and 3, with daily cases declining by 98 percent from the peak of the pandemic on July 15.

"I can say that at this time there are no more urban districts with level 4 in Java and Bali," said Luhut, Monday, September 20, 2021.

With cases declining, the Indonesian government begins to ease rules, including for the operating ours of restaurants, cafés, and other dining venues.

Outdoor dining venues located in sports complexes can now open with a maximum capacity of 50 percent. Meanwhile, restaurants and cafes that are open at night can now operate until 00:00 with a maximum capacity of 25 percent.

Indoor and outdoor venues with standalone operations or located within a mall/shopping center's vicinity can open until 21:00 with a maximum capacity of 50 percent.

All restaurants and cafes must limit diners to two people per table for a maximum time of 60 minutes. The managements are also mandated to use the Peduli Lindungi app to screen all diners and employees.
