  • TEMPO.CO, JakartaPresident Joko "Jokowi" Widodo monitored the door-to-door COVID-19 vaccination program in Aceh today, September 16. The program was targeted to involve 1,500 residents in Lambro Bileu Village, Kuta Baro District, Aceh Besar District.

“Together with the Head of BIN (State Intelligence Agency) and Aceh Governor, we conduct a door-to-door immunization program to accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination in Aceh Province,” said the President.

He said the activity was one of the government's efforts to provide services to the community in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Jokowi also hoped that the accelerated inoculation could control the virus transmission.

“Because vaccination is one of the keys to curb COVID-19 transmission,” the state head underlined.

He also appealed to the people to always be vigilant, remain disciplined in carrying out health protocols, and start learning to live with COVID-19.

“We really have to start learning to live side by side with COVID-19 because COVID-19 will not completely disappear from our country,” he said.

Officials accompanying President Jokowi during the monitoring of COVID-19 vaccination were the Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, Head of BIN Budi Gunawan, and Aceh Governor Nova Iriansyah.
