5 Wealthiest Ministers in Jokowi Administration

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of ministers in President Joko Widodo or Jokowi administration are recorded to have assets of more than Rp1 trillion. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced that there are 70 percent of state officials whose wealth increased during the pandemic, while about 20 percent of them experienced a decrease in wealth.

"We have observed that during the pandemic in the past year, in general, 70 percent of state officials' assets have increased," said KPK's Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring Pahala Nainggolan in an online discussion, Tuesday, September 7.

Tempo summarized the wealthiest ministers based on the latest report on December 31, 2020.

1. Sandiaga Uno

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno has the highest assets of Rp3.815 trillion. His wealth decreased compared to the previous report in 2019, which was Rp5.099 trillion.

2. Wahyu Sakti Trenggono

The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Wahyu Sakti Trenggono is in second place with the total assets of Rp2,428 trillion. His wealth increased compared to 2019, which was Rp1,947 trillion.

3. Erick Thohir

The SOE Minister Erick Thohir reported that his assets amounted to Rp2,312 trillion. His wealth decreased slightly compared to 2019, which was Rp2,316 trillion.

4. Prabowo Subianto

The Defense Minister Prabowo reported his wealth as Rp2,029 trillion. Last year, his assets were Rp2,005 trillion.

5. Nadiem Makarim

The Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim is in fifth position with assets of Rp1,192 trillion. His wealth decreased slightly compared to the previous year, which was Rp1,225 trillion.
