Ancol, Taman Mini Plan Reopening under Covid Protocols This Weekend

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta's Department of Tourism and Creative Economy plans to reopen tourist attractions on trial bases and under Covid-19 protocols starting Friday this week, September 10. The Office's head of supervision and control, Iffan, said that the venues assigned to reopen are North Jakarta's Ancol Beach Park and East Jakarta's Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII).
"This is based on what the ministry [determined]," Iffan said on Wednesday, September 8.
Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian has instructed cities with Level 3 PPKM statuses, which include Jakarta, to hold trials for reopening tourist attractions under strict Covid protocols.
Iffan said that Ancol and Taman Mini will adjust their operating hours to local regulations. Jakarta Governor Jakarta Anies Baswedan had instructed tourist attractions to open only until 21:00.
During the trial runs, Iffan said, Ancol and Taman Mini must limit the maximum number of visitors following provisions from the central government. The managers must also check visitors for their Covid-19 vaccine certificates using the PeduliLindungi app.
"[Attraction venues] must have the QR Code for PeduliLindungi," Iffan said.
