TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police will conduct raids at crowd-prone areas in the crowd free night policy during the enforcement of Covid-19 restriction or PPKM.
"[Namely in] Sudirman-Thamrin, SCBD, Kemang, and Asia-Africa roads," said Jakarta Traffic Police Chief Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yugo, as quoted by Tempo.co on Wednesday, September 8.
The metro police will conduct limited separation from 22:00 to 24:00 local time. "We'll do a total closure after 12 o'clock."
During that time, the Police will only allow emergency vehicles, hotel guests, and residents in the area to pass.
The crowd free night policy comes into effect this week, from Friday to Sunday and holidays. The Jakarta Metro Police will also work with the Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) personnel to disperse crowds in public places, such as restaurants and cafes.
