TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan stated that certain tourist destinations are allowed to operate during the extension period of level 3 public mobility restrictions or PPKM Level 3 from September 7-13, 2021. This is noted in the Gubernatorial Decree No. 1072 of 2021 signed by Anies on September 6.
“Operating hours [of the tourist sites] are up to 9 p.m,” as quoted from the Decree.
The central government decided to run trials of the implementation of the Covid-19 health protocols at tourist destinations. The trials would apply to cities under the PPKM Level 3 status, including Jakarta.
Based on the decree, the list of tourist attractions that could take part in the trials would be determined by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry.
All visitors and employees must comply with the predetermined health protocols. Only those who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 are allowed to enter the tourist site. The vaccination certificate screening will use the government’s Covid-19 surveillance app PeduliLindungi. Children, however, are still barred from entering tourist attractions.
“Children under the age of 12 are prohibited from entering tourist sites that are open for the trials,” Anies Baswedan wrote.
