KRL Commuter Line Now Only Requires Covid-19 Vaccination Proof

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commuter line rail operator PT KAI Commuter has required people to show a Covid-19 vaccination certificate starting Wednesday, September 8. This new policy follows the Covid-19 Task Force’s Circular No. 17 of 2021 on changes in domestic travel rules during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Starting Wednesday, September 8, KAI Commuter will require vaccine certificate for boarding the KRL,” said KAI Commuter Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Anne Purba, in a written statement on Tuesday, September 7.

Anne explained the dissemination period for the new rule would run until Friday, September 10. During the time, previous travel requirements such as STRP and other documents would still be accepted. “KAI Commuter appeals to users to prepare the vaccine certificate, and so starting Saturday, show it to the officers,” she added.

The vaccination certificates could be shown through the PeduliLindungi app or a printed or digital documents in the form of photo files. Officers would also ask users to show ID cards or other identities to match with the vaccine certificates of at least one dose.

Starting Saturday, September 11, travel documents in the form of STRP, assignment letters, work certificates, and letters from the local government would no longer be valid for boarding KRL Commuter Line. Users who have not been vaccinated due to medical reasons, including Covid-19 survivors, could show an official letter from a doctor at the health community center (Puskesmas) or hospital regarding their conditions.
