No More Covid-19 Red Zone in Jakarta: Deputy Governor

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said there was no more area in the capital city that was classified as Covid-19 red zone or at high risk of coronavirus transmission.

“We are grateful that there are no more red zones now, all neighboring and community units (RT/RW) are already classified as orange, yellow, or green zones,” he said at the City Hall, Tuesday, September 7.

Riza, however, hoped that people would remain disciplined in complying with the predetermined health protocols to maintain this positive trend.

According to Jakarta’s Covid-19 website, no more red zones in the capital as of September 7. However, hundreds of RT still fell into the orange and yellow zone categories or were at moderate to low risk of virus transmission.

In detail, all 132 RT in Central Jakarta were categorized as the yellow zone. In East Jakarta, there are five RT in the orange zone and the rest 387 RT were in the yellow zone. West Jakarta has one orange zone, and the remaining 328 were included in the yellow zone category.

Additionally, South Jakarta has three RT in the orange zone and another 354 RT in the yellow zone category. North Jakarta has one RT in the orange zone and 255 RT in the yellow zone. The Thousand Islands, meanwhile, only has one area in the yellow zone.

Riza further reminded that if public discipline towards the health protocols against Covid-19 was getting poor, the Covid-19 red zone could possibly increase again. “We will surely return to the red zone if we are not disciplined, and don't let us be the trigger for the case to rise again,” said the Deputy Governor.
