TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police are enforcing a crowd-free night rule to restrict the mobility of residents after sundown. This policy applies on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from midnight until 4:00 a.m., starting this week.
"The crowd free night [rule] will be implemented in Sudirman, Thamrin, SCBD, and Kemang," the Jakarta Police's traffic director, Sr. Comr. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, said on Monday, September 6th.
Sambodo said that the crowd-free night implementation will be adjusted to the rules related to PPKM that apply in Jakarta.
"Before midnight we will do limited separation, for example on motorcycle communities and crowds of people. After midnight we will close off everything," he said.
The Jakarta police will also act to disperse crowds in public venues such as restaurants and cafés.
