PPKM Jakarta; Govt Relaxes Rules on Restaurants, Dine-in Time Limit

7 September 2021 11:44 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaHome Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian instructed more relaxed rules on restaurants and the dine-in time limit in Jakarta as the level 3 public mobility restriction or PPKM Level 3 was extended until September 13. In his instructions, Tito would monitor the implementation of the health protocols in restaurants or cafes located in stores or buildings.

Restaurants and cafes are now allowed to operate with higher capacity, or at 50 percent of their total capacity. The dine-in time limit is also set longer to 60 minutes. In the previous PPKM Level 3, they could only open at 25 percent and customers could only dine-in for up to 30 minutes each.

“The list of companies that will take part in this trial is determined by the Trade Ministry and the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry,” as quoted from Tito's instructions.

As in the previous rules, all employees and visitors must be vaccinated against Covid-19. Restaurants are also required to use the PeduliLindungi app to screen employees’ and customers’ vaccination certificates.

The rules applied in Jakarta, Bandung City, and Surabaya City which were regulated in the Home Affairs Ministerial Instruction No. 39 of 2021 concerning PPKM Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 Covid-19 in Java and Bali regions.
