TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Ministry of Religion Affairs stated that attachment of negative Covid-19 antigen test result is required for marriage ceremonies during the implementation of the restriction on people’s activities (PPKM).

The requirements still refer to the circular letter (SE) Director General of Islamic Guidance No. P.002/DJ.III/Hk.007/07/2021 issued July 11, 2021.

"The SE is still valid, one of which must attach the negative results of the antigen swab letter," said Acting Director of Religious Affairs Office (KUA) and Sakinah Family, Directorate General of Islamic Guidance, Ministry of Religion M Adib Machrus, in his statement, Thursday, September 2, 2021.

Adib said that the people required to bring an antigen test letter are the bride and groom, the marriage guardian, and two witnesses. "They are required to do an antigen swab which is valid 24 hours before the implementation of the marriage ceremony," he said.

Adib also reminded the chief ceremony (penghulu) to really pay attention to health protocols in providing marriage services during the PPKM period, one of which was limiting the number of attendees.

"The requirements for marriage during PPKM are none other than ensuring the prevention of Covid-19 transmission in the marriage cluster," said Adib.

The government decided to extend PPKM at Level 2 to Level 4 for 7 days. From August 31 to September 6, 2021.
