TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe government decided to extend the multi-tiered public mobility restrictions or PPKMThe Level 3 PPKM is now in place in Greater Jakarta or Jabodetabek, Greater Bandung, Greater Surabaya, Greater Malang, and Greater Solo.

However, the Java-Bali PPKM coordinator Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said several rules were relaxed, including the operating hours of shopping malls and dine-in capacity at restaurants, given that the pandemic parameters showed an improvement trend during the recent enforcement of PPKM.

“In line with the improving Covid-19 trend and ongoing discipline to health protocols, there are rule adjustments,” said Luhut in an online press conference on Monday night, August 30.

Restaurants are now allowed to serve dine-in customers at 50 percent of the total capacity, from previously at 25 percent. The shopping mall’s operating hours are also set longer until 9 p.m.

As many as 1,000 indoor seating restaurants and those inside malls are also allowed to operate at 25 percent capacity. Previously, they could only serve delivery and take away.

The rule adjustments are valid for restaurants in Surabaya, Jakarta, Bandung and Semarang areas.
