TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Jakarta Health Agency Head of Disease Prevention and Control, Dwi Oktavia, on Monday announced that the city logged 341 new Covid-19 cases from 7,657 specimens tested, which she asserts is 498 cases less than the previous cases recorded.

According to the agency, the capital city has logged a positivity rate of 4.8 percent during the past week, which is below the World Health Organization (WHO) standard of 5 percent.

“The active cases as of today are 7,255, who are either under hospital treatment and isolation,” said Oktavia in a written statement on Monday, August 30.

Throughout the pandemic, she said, Jakarta logged 850,184 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 829,668 recoveries, making it a 97.6 percent recovery rate. Meanwhile, the mortality rate in total is logged at 1.6 percent with 13,261 deaths related to the coronavirus.

The government has officially extended the level 3 public activity restriction (PPKM Level 3) across Java and Bali that is enacted from August 31 and will last until September 6. The government said there are 26 regencies and cities in the two islands that have seen restriction levels lowered to level 3, which includes the capital city.
