TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - More relaxed Covid-19 restrictions or PPKM Level 3 is in place in Jakarta. Malls and shopping are allowed to operate on a limited basis. However, Governor Anies Baswedan through his decree No. 1026 of 2021 has not yet permitted the reopening of movie theaters, children’s playgrounds, and entertainment venues in malls.
“Cinemas, children's playgrounds, and entertainment venues in shopping centers/malls/trade centers are closed,” as quoted from the decree signed on August 23.
As widely reported, the central government eased the restrictions policy in the capital city from the strictest level 4 to level 3 which took effect on August 24-30.
During PPKM Level 3, the city administration allowed malls, shopping centers, or trade centers to operate at 50 percent of their maximum capacity from 10 a.m until 8 p.m. Both workers or traders and visitors are required to present the Covid-19 vaccination card through the PeduliLindungi Covid-19 surveillance app and comply with the predetermined health protocols.
Under PPKM Level 3, restaurants and cafes in malls, shopping centers, or trade centers are also allowed to operate and serve dine-in customers at 25 percent capacity. One table is limited to a group of two with a maximum meal time of 30 minutes.
