TNI Holds Mass Vaccination in Indonesia-Malaysia Border

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) Base XIII on Tuesday held a mass vaccination for people residing along the Indonesian-Malaysian border at the Navy Sei Pancang Post in Sebatik, North Kalimantan.

The base’s Commander, First Admiral Edi Krisna Murti attributed the success of the event to local public figures. “Sebatik residents enthusiastically participate in the event held at the Sei Pancang post,” he said. 

Citing Antaranews, in  order to fight Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy, he reminded the public to not worry about the vaccine prepared by TNI as it has passed clinical trials conducted by the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM). 

Navy Base Commander Lieutenant Colonel Nonot Eko Febrianto said that 250 locals would receive complete doses.

A local figure in the Sebatik region, H. Herman conveyed his appreciation for the mass vaccination held by the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), especially for proactively hosting the event in the country’s border region. “We are thankful for the attention given by the Indonesian Navy that actively approached the general public in this mass vaccination, especially Sebatik residents.”
