TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe government issued a new regulation regarding the enforcement of four-tiered public mobility restrictions (PPKM) on August 24-30, 2021. The rule is noted in the Instruction of the Home Affairs Ministerial No. 35 of 2021 concerning Level 4, 3, and 2 PPKM in the Java-Bali region.

The Ministerial Instructions stated that a number of regions are still at level 4 PPKM, including Yogyakarta and Bali. All districts and cities in these two provinces have not experienced a decline in the level of the Covid-19 restrictions.

The coordinator of the Java-Bali PPKM, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, claimed that the PPKM level 4 status in a number of cities, including Yogyakarta and Bali, will soon be dropped.

“We expect it to drop to Level 3 in the next few weeks if there are continuous improvements in the Covid-19 handling, especially in order to promote faster recovery and reduce the death rate,” he said on Monday, August 23.
