TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Covid-19 Task Force recorded new confirmed cases of 16,744 people on Saturday, August 21.
Based on Health Ministry data at 12 p.m., the daily figure was obtained from testing 200,250 specimens, making the total confirmed positive case to 3,967,048 people.

East Java logged the highest number of 2,122 cases, followed by West Java with 1,747 people, then Central Java with 1,236 cases, and North Sumatra 1,189 people.

Today, 23,011 people have recovered from the Coronavirus disease, totaling the recoveries to 3,522,048. Meanwhile, the number of people who succumbed to the illness today was 1,361, totaling the figure to 125,342 people.

The region reported the highest Covid-19 related death was West Java with 343 people, and then Central Java with 311 cases, and East Java with 213 people.
