Independence Day; Garuda Indonesia, The Goods Dept Release Vintage Merchandise

13 August 2021 10:11 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia in collaboration with The Goods Dept. launched thematic merchandise with a vintage concept to welcome the 76th Indonesian Independence Day. The design adopts the classic logo of Garuda in the 1970-1985 era.

President Director of Garuda, Irfan Setiaputra, said the launching of the exclusive product is the company's effort to support local products. The Goods Dept. is a local retail brand that produces various fashion goods.

“Hopefully the exclusive products will not only raise the nationalism spirit of all Indonesian people but also inspire and explore the potential of the nation's children in producing the best work,” said Irfan on Friday, August 13.

The products include bomber jackets, tote bags, duffel bags, and other accessories that will be sold online at The Goods Dept's official sales channel thegoodsdept.com and Garuda's website garudashop.garuda-indonesia.com.

Founder and CEO of The Goods Dept. Anton Wirjono welcomed the collaboration. As a national airline, he said, Garuda was inseparable from the history of the country.

“This collaboration has its own meaning for the community, especially loyal customers of Garuda, he said.

Garuda Indonesia established various programs to support local products. Apart from the collaboration, it opened a special direct flight network for logistics to various export destinations, such as Manado-Narita, Makassar-Singapore, Denpasar-Hongkong, and Surabaya-Hong Kong.
