TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The chairperson of the Jakarta Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI) Ellen Hidayat announced on Thursday, August 12, 2021, that foreign citizens are required to show a vaccination certificate as a pass to enter malls.
"There are standard operating procedures on how foreign nationals can [enter malls]," said Hidayat on August 12, 2021.
Foreign nationals who have received their vaccine shot outside of Indonesia will be required to show a digital certificate along with personal identification for confirmation. However, vaccine certificates overseas are not yet integrated with the Indonesian Covid-19 tracing-app, PeduliLindungi.
The Indonesian government is still formulating the mechanism for mall visitations. Currently, there is no regulation on what action will be taken against foreign citizens who cannot present vaccination certificate.
"Follow the current guidelines as the Health Ministry is currently preparing the official procedure for foreign nationals," said the APPBI chairperson.
