TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government adjusted the policy following the extended tier-based public mobility restrictions or PPKM Level 4 and 3 until August 16, including for air travel.
The policy is noted in the Covid-19 Task Force Circular No. 17/2021 and the Transportation Ministerial Circular No. 62 of 2021 on domestic air travel amid the Covid-19 pandemic. “The circulars take effect from Wednesday, August 11 until undetermined time and will be evaluated according to the situation development,” said the task force spokesman Wiku Adisasmito.
It is stipulated that air travelers arriving or departing from Java-Bali or regions under PPKM Level 3 and 4 must present a vaccination card of at least one dose and a negative result of the RT-PCR test that is valid for 2x24 hours before departure.
The requirements are also valid for people having domestic flights in Java-Bali or regions under PPKM Level 1 and 2. Travelers could also bring a vaccination card of full doses and a negative result of rapid antigen tests taken 1x24 hours before departure.
Children under 12 years old are still not allowed to travel. The government also requires airplane passengers to submit a resident identification number (NIK) when booking a ticket, either through the airline’s sales channel or others. Passengers are also obliged to access the Covid-19 single data information system, Peduli Lindungi.
