Govt Adjusts PPKM Level 3-4 Rules Applied Outside Java-Bali

TEMPO.CO, JakartaCoordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government adjusted regulations in the public mobility restrictions or PPKM Level 3 and 4 applied in regions outside Java-Bali. The changes were valid as the PPKM was extended from August 10 to 23, 2021.

“The government is opening activities limitedly and gradually,” said Airlangga in a virtual press conference on Monday, August 9.

PPKM Level 4 applies to 45 districts and cities, while PPKM Level 3 is implemented in 302 regions. The determination of the restrictions was based on several indicators, such as the number of cases, the death rate, the number of tests, and the population.

1. Regions under PPKM Level 3

a. Teaching and learning activities can be carried out face-to-face with a maximum of 50 percent capacity and under strict health protocols.

b. The export-oriented and supporting industries are allowed to operate 100 percent under strict protocols. If a Covid-19 cluster is found, it will be closed for five days.

c. Restaurants are allowed to serve dine-in customers with a maximum capacity of 50 percent and under strict health protocols.

d. Malls and shopping centers are allowed to open until 20:00 local time, a maximum capacity of 50 percent. Visitors are also required to wear masks.

e. Places of worship are allowed to carry out activities with a maximum capacity of 50 percent or 50 people and under strict health protocols.

2. Regions enforcing PPKM Level 4

a. Export-oriented industries are permitted to operate 100 percent under strict health protocols. If a Covid-19 cluster is found, it will be closed for 5 days.

b. Places of worship are allowed to carry out religious activities with a maximum capacity of 30 people and under strict health protocols.
