TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe North Jakarta city government was set to administer the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine or vaccine booster again for health workers.

Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Unit of the North Jakarta Health Agency, Arief Wahyudi, said a total of 13,800 health workers would receive the third shot.

According to him, unlike the vaccines used in previous stages, the booster would use the Moderna vaccine.

“For the initial stage, the third dose of vaccination is prioritized for health workers serving in healthcare centers and hospitals,” he said in a written statement on Sunday, August 8.

The Koja District Community Health Center (Puskesmas) head, Sri Puji Astuti, said recipients of the third dose of vaccine were not only doctors and nurses but also other officers such as security guards and cleaning staff at the community health center.

“28 health workers have been vaccinated. They take it in turners so as not to interfere with health services at Puskesmas,” said Sri.

The third dose Covid-19 vaccination program kicked off with the issuance of a Circular Number HK.02.01/I/1919/2021. The third dose has been granted recommendation by the Indonesian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (ITAGI).
