TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A legal advisor for disc jockey Dinar Candy, Acong Latief, on Friday said his client deeply regretted her public ‘bikini stunt’ in protesting against the public activity restriction (PPKM Level 4). During the protest, she wore a two-piece bikini while holding a large sign standing at a sidewalk in South Jakarta.
“Dinar regretted doing what she did. What she committed was not commendable in the eyes of the public,” Acong confirmed on August 6.
The Metro Jaya Police named her a suspect of pornography after her protest went viral on social media. The police did not arrest her, which according to Dinar's attorney, due to her remorse and cooperation during the police investigation.
The DJ is currently required to report back to the police twice a week. “She wasn’t arrested. It was her who came here after police contacted her,” he said.
Reported on Thursday, the South Jakarta Metro Resort Police named a celebrity Dinar Candy as a suspect in a pornography case for staging a street rally by wearing only a bikini and uploaded the act to social media.
“We have named DC as a suspect in the alleged crime of pornography as stated in Law No. 36 of 2008,” said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Comr. Azis Andriansyah at his office, Thursday, August 5.
The disc jockey, Aziz explained, faces charges which carry a maximum sentence of up to 10 years behind bars or a fine of Rp5 billion.
