Indonesia Continues Providing Free Internet for Students

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to continue the disbursement of free internet data assistance for students this year. Last year, government has disbursed Internet Data Assistance, Single Tuition Assistance (UKT) for the continuity of education in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
"The support provided includes Internet Data Quota Assistance, Single Tuition Assistance (UKT) for students affected by Covid-19, and Subsidy Assistance for educators and education personnel," wrote the Ministry of Education and Culture on his Instagram account, Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
The 2021 internet data assistance includes 7GB/month for PAUD level students, 10GB/month for Primary and Secondary Education level students, 12GB/month for Kindergarten (PAUD) and Primary and Secondary Education level educators, and for lecturers and students are given 15 GB/month.
This free internet assistance will be distributed to the students’ and teachers’ phone numbers who have been registered in the Basic Education Data (Dapodik) system.
If students and teachers are not registered and have changed their registered cell phone numbers, here's how to register to be a recipient of free internet quota assistance from the Ministry of Education and Culture:
• Recipients must report to the head of the education unit prior to the distribution period to obtain internet data assistance.
• Education unit leaders or operators must upload a statement of absolute responsibility (SPTJM) for changed numbers or new numbers on the Ministry of Education and Culture website https://vervalponsel.data.kemdikbud.go.id/ or https://pddikti.kemdikbud.go .id/ (for higher education level).
