TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) member from the Gerindra Party faction has criticized the city administration for the 85.27 percent (Rp4.7 trillion) use of the city’s Rp5.52 trillion emergency fund.
Gerindra Party legislator Thopaz Nugraha Syamsul said the city has not fully-utilized its budget.
“The Gerindra faction disapproves the use of the emergency fund that has not been fully utilized to sponsor Jakarta administration’s activities in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic,” said the Syamsul in Monday’s DPRD plenary meeting.
The realization of the emergency fund consists of Rp918.61 billion for healthcare aspects and Rp3.78 trillion to provide social safety nets. According to him, the Party urges city administrators to build an emergency hospital using the emergency funds.
The DPRD member also called for the city to add the number of oxygen refilling and loaning posts to prevent healthcare facilities from collapsing. “Through this, the deaths of hospital patients and those under self-isolation dan be suppressed.”
