PPKM Relaxation; People's Mobility Increased by 30 Percent

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police Chief of Traffic Department Sr. Comr. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said the people’s mobility during the extension of Covid-19 curbs dubbed the PPKM Level 4 has increased, especially in the last three days.
"If it is calculated from the volume of traffic flow from the three main toll gates leading to Jakarta, namely Cililitan, Tomang, and Halim, there is an increase of up to 30 percent," said Sambodo at his office on Thursday, July 29.
Sambodo said the extension of PPKM Level 4 as of July 26 was different from the previous Covid-19 restrictions enforcement.
During this extension, he said, there were relaxations such as permitting several businesses to operate. This is suspected to be the cause of the increased mobility in Jakarta.
Even so, Sambodo said the mechanism and points of road blocking remain the same.
