Jakarta DPRD Clarifies Issue on Third Covid-19 Vaccine Shot in DPRD Building

29 July 2021 13:32 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaActing Secretary of the Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) Augustinus clarified that there was no injection of the third dose of Covid-19 vaccine using Moderna in the DRPD Building. He said the council only used available vaccine brands from the city’s Health Agency, namely Sinovac and AstraZeneca.

“There is no third shot, let alone using Moderna,” said Augustinus to Tempo on Thursday, July 29.

The statement was in response to the viral Twitter post by @cathydjaya on July 28. It was said about the administration of the third dose of vaccine or a booster shot for social media stars or influencers in the DPRD building.

The account owner also posted a photo showing that the injection was held in the DPRD building as there were logos of Jakarta and the DPRD.

Augustinus said all residents are allowed to visit the council room. However, he could not confirm whether or not the photo was actually taken inside the DPRD Building. “I ensure that there is no third injection of vaccine in the DPRD.”

He also underlined that the DPRD had held the vaccinations since two months ago, not only for board members or Independent Service Providers (PJLP) but also the general public in a bid to accelerate the national Covid-19 vaccine program and achieve the herd immunity target set by President Jokowi.
