MRT Jakarta Works on Transit Oriented Development Project in 5 Areas

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT MRT Jakarta will build Transit Oriented Development in five areas of the capital city. The project will be carried out by two subsidiaries, PT Integrasi Transportasi Jakarta (ITJ) and PT Moda Integrasi Transportasi Jabodetabek.
"In Senayan, Dukuh Atas, Blok M, Lebak Bulus and Fatmawati," MRT Jakarta's director of corporate finance and management, Roy Rahendra said in a web seminar held by the Jakarta City Transportation Service, Wednesday, July 28.
The Transit Oriented Development project is expected to create new growths by integrating the MRT with the Indonesia Commuter Train or KCI, as well as Transjakarta buses.
The project work includes constructing transit plazas, affordable housing, parks, interconnection hubs, transport hubs, and multipurpose pedestrian bridges.
At Dukuh Atas, construction will begin this year with the groundbreaking projected to take place in September.
