TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno collaborated with Kahmipreneur to provide a second batch of scholarships for small traders affected by the public mobility restrictions or PPKM Level 4. The scholarships are for elementary school students and orphaned students due to Covid-19.
“The new school year is about to start, our children must continue to study and attend school. Use this opportunity so that they can get the best education for their future,” said Sandiaga in his official Instagram account on Wednesday, July 28.
He hoped the program could ease the burden on street vendors affected by the pandemic, save the economy, and create jobs.
“We will continue to provide aid that is right on target, has the right benefits, and can be directly distributed to those who really need it,” he added.
The first batch of the scholarships was for junior high school to university students. Each university student gets Rp500,000 per month, a high school student gets Rp400,000 per month, and a junior high school student gets Rp300,000 per month.
For the second batch, Sandiaga Uno explained, the scholarship targeted elementary schools and orphaned students, and each will receive Rp250,000.
