TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police chief, Insp. Gen. Mohammad Fadil Imran, handed over 166 oxygen cylinders to Governor Anies Baswedan. The oxygen cylinders were confiscated by the Central Jakarta Resort Police.
"The Central Jakarta precinct found indications of misuse of the import mechanism by counterfeiting types of goods," Fadil said here on Tuesday, July 27.
In addition to the canister, the police also handed over an oxygen regulator.
According to Fadil, 138 of the oxygen tanks had been tested by the Health Ministry, and the result showed they are fit and proper to be used on Covid-19 patients.
Fadil said that in the market, the oxygen tanks can sell for Rp2.5 million each, far above the pre-pandemic prices of around Rp300,000 to Rp900,000.
