TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said the budget for the Bangga Berwisata in Indonesia (Proud to Go Traveling to Indonesia) program was reallocated following the enforcement of the public activity restrictions or PPKM Level 4.
The program budget was initially noted in the national economic recovery for the tourism and creative economy sectors totaling Rp2.4 trillion.
“It is being reallocated for the government assistance for tourism businesses (BPUP),” said Sandiaga on Friday, July 23.
He hoped that the program could run as soon as the budget reallocation process was completed at the Finance Ministry.
When asked about the vaccine tourism program, Sandiaga said his side was still preparing it. Since it was launched on June 28, he previously expected to kick off the program on July 4.
“But because PPKM level 4 starts on July 3, the program must be postponed,” he added.
The Rp2.4 trillion budget will also be allocated as social assistance for the movie sector as one of the sub-sectors of the creative economy and health workers in terms of accommodations such as hotels near hospitals.
“This has been going on and will continue to be improved. We are also trying to equip these hotels with facilities such as oxygen, medicines, and vitamins,” said Sandiaga Uno.
