TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi on Wednesday, inspected the State's Logistics Agency (Bulog) Warehouse Complex in Kelapa Gading to ensure that the national rice stock is sufficient.
"I want to make sure that the national stock for rice is sufficient. Earlier, the Head of Bulog said that the current rice stock in Bulog was 1,373,000 tons. This means that our stock is sufficient," the President said on July 21.
During the visit, Jokowi also checked the distribution of the rice aid program for the people, which has been running since last Friday, July 16.
The President hopes that the rice aid program can help the people, especially during the Emergency PPKM. This rice aid program also complements a number of other government aids to provide social security and protection for the public in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Besides the rice aid, there are also electricity subsidies, cash assistance, Village BLT, subsidies for the internet, family planning program (PKH), and others.
Jokowi arrived at the Bulog Warehouse at around 09:00 Jakarta time and immediately inspected the rice warehouse for about 30 minutes. He was accompanied by Bulog President Director, Budi Waseso.
