Jakarta Leads Covid-19 Vaccination Rate, Depok Comes Last

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pursuant to the records of the Health Ministry, Jakarta remains as the city with the highest rate of Covid-19 vaccination within the Jabodetabek area.
Data from the Health Ministry as of July 19, 2021, Jakarta has managed to achieve 79.14 percent of the intended vaccination target. Meanwhile, for the second vaccination, the Capital recorded a rate of 24.08 percent.
President Joko Widodo previously set a target to vaccinate 8.8 million Jakarta residents on August 2021.
Numerous efforts have been exerted by the Jakarta Ptovincial Government to achieve the target, such as establishing vaccination central, providing mobile vaccination facilities, and disseminate information to Family Welfare Empowerment activists.
Meanwhile, data from the Ministry of Health showed that Depok is the city with the lowest vaccination rate. Only 0.65 percent of the intended target of the first vaccination has been achieved, and 0.32 percent for the second vaccination target.

Currently, the government is attempting to expedite the Covid-19 vaccination process to be able to achieve herd immunity, which believed to be the key to recover the economy.
