TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan proposed a revision to the Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 2 of 2020 concerning COVID-19 Response. Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) Deputy Chairman Mohamad Taufik said the council would hold a meeting to discuss the proposal today, July 19.
“We will check which will be amended,” said Taufik to Tempo on Monday, July 19, 2021.
Taufik claimed the Jakarta DPRD members did not know which clauses Anies wanted to revise. The meeting was scheduled to be held today at 3 p.m. in the board’s meeting room on the tenth floor of the Jakarta DPRD New Building.
The invitation letter stated that the meeting would discuss the Gubernatorial letter No. 305/-075.61 dated July 14, 2021, regarding the proposal to amend the Perda 2/2020.
The COVID-19 Regulation was ratified in the plenary meeting of the Jakarta DPRD on October 19, 2020, which then officially took effect on November 12, 2020.
The regulation contained 11 chapters and 35 articles about the rights and obligations; the implementation of the Large-Scale Social Restrictions or PSBB; the use of information technology and information dissemination; the partnership and collaboration; economic recovery and social protection; monitoring; evaluation; reporting; funding; and criminal provisions.
