Hypermart, Gojek Launch Virtual Shops

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hypermart management, PT Matahari Putra Prima or MPPA, announced its partnership with Gojek through the lanuching plan of 31 virtual markets in Jakarta Greater Area (Jabodetabek) on Gojek's online shop feature, GoMart.
This was taken to support the governmnt's effort in suppressing the number of Covid-19 transmission. "In this Covid-19 [pandemic] situation, we accelerate this partnership to provide the safety and comfort for the customers [in shopping] through a different service that is adjusted to the needs of the current until future situation," said MPPA Chief Executive Officer, Elliot Dickson, in a written statement on Thursday, July 8.
Elliot said the corporation continues to explore its partnership with Gojek through better services and more complete features, as well as virtual shops nationwide in the near future. Currently, MPPA has 6,200 products, including 885 fresh products on GoMart.
This service will ease the consumers living in Jabodetabek area, that must stay at home following government's policy, in online shopping and purchasing various fresh products. MPPA offers 10 percent dicount for all products for the online shoppers, under the prevailing terms and conditions.
The company, Elliot went on, continues to strengthen the online business services as a new strategic plan in 2021 and beyond. Under the Covid-19 pandemic situation, in the past few months, MPPA strengthens its e-commerce Hypermart Online and Chat & Shop that cover 112 shops across Indonesia.
Gojek Head of Groceries, Tarun Agarwal, said that the partnership will add to the merchant options and expand the service area, which become GoMart's focus this year. This is in line to the fact that online shopping has become the priority choice of the people amid the pandemic.
"We welcome and are glad with the collaboration with MPPA, marked by the opening of dozens of Hypermart's virtual markets on GoMart. This partnership will add to the series of our efforts to quickly respond to the needs of the people in online shopping,” he remarked.
