Bulog Allocates 200,000 tons of Rice for Cash Assistance Program

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The State's Logistics Agency or Bulog is allocating 200,000 tons of rice for the cash social assistance (BST) program. The Social Affairs Ministry plans to give 10 kilograms of additional rice for participants of the BST and the Family of Hope (PKH) program.
"Bulog is ready to carry out the task of distributing additional rice for 10 million recipients of the cash social assistance program and 10 million participants of the family of hope programs. Each will receive an additional 10 kilograms of rice assistance," Bulog president director Budi Waseso said on Thursday, July 8.
Budi said that there are 1.4 million tons of rice in Bulog's warehouse. He said that the rice distributed for the BST program are of good quality and fit for consumption.
The addition of Bulog rice for the social assistance program is stipulated in a President's instructions during emergency community activity restrictions (Emergency PPKM) in Java and Bali from July 3 to 20.
Meanwhile, Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini said that she would immediately send data on BST and PKH recipients to Bulog. Bulog will then distribute the rice through its nationwide network.
